I have always been an animal lover and hoped to work with pets as a profession, but wasn't sure in what capacity. Fortunately, pet sitting found me!
In 2008, I moved to Japan as the wife of a US sailor. Many Navy families traveled home to the United States, often for a couple of months. They needed someone who would care for their fur babies as if they were her own.
It was well-known around base that I was passionate about animals, so I was asked to care for some families' pets during their travels. I soon became the go-to pet sitter for our housing community, as well as neighboring Japanese friends. I loved it! It was the best time of my life.
I returned to the States in 2012 and resumed life in the finance industry. Something was missing, though. So I quit my job to pursue my passion once again. After just three days of launching my new business, Pawsitive Pet Care, I had my first customer. The rest, as they say, is history!
I absolutely love caring for such gentle, loving souls. And it's always an honor to be chosen as their care taker. Seniors, special needs, and the "misfits" (blind, deaf, tripods, etc.) are my favorites! I have been blessed with some truly remarkable clients with wonderful pets. I have the best job in the world!
“Kristen was wonderful! My dog has separation anxiety, but from the moment Kristen walked in, Roxie felt comfortable with her and didn't even cry once when I left. I highly recommend Kristen. I was able to enjoy my evening knowing my fur baby was in excellent hands!!"

“Kristen is a godsend! This was the first time hiring a dog sitter and my first time having a stranger watch my apartment. Kristen definitely knows what she's doing when it comes to caring for dogs. Not only did she regularly send me updates throughout the day, but she made sure to leave my place even tidier than I left it! I will absolutely be using Kristen again in the future."
